#6. Annapolis Peace Bid
Nov. 27: President Bush convenes the first formal Israeli-Palestinian peace summit in seven years, to launch final-status negotiations aimed at achieving a two-state solution to the conflict. The Annapolis Conference brings together Israeli and Palestinian leaders under U.S. mediation, but the attendance of leaders of the Arab world is deemed critical to the success of the renewed peace process.
